Traveling by air can be exciting and adventurous, yet even experienced travelers need assistance in navigating unfamiliar airports and destinations, locating useful information, and finding shops and amenities. You can make a tangible difference in a traveler's day by serving as a Volunteer Airport Ambassador.

What Will I Do as an Ambassador?

Airport Ambassadors provide Southern hospitality by meeting and greeting travelers and visitors with warmth, compassion and information about the airport and our community. You'll provide information about Louisville attractions, restaurants and hotels. And you'll provide directions to gate locations, baggage claim, and services and facilities. But more than that, you'll provide clarity to the confused, uplift the weary, calm the anxious, and provide care to harried travelers. In short, you'll be a living example of the kindness of strangers. You'll be a goodwill ambassador for our community while making a traveler's airport experience smooth and memorable.

What Makes Me Qualified to be an Ambassador?

It's not what you know that makes you a good candidate for being an ambassador; it's who you are at heart. Your personality and attitude are key to our program's success.

What are the benefits of being an Ambassador?

As an Ambassador, you'll enjoy free airport garage parking, receive a volunteer newsletter, earn service awards, be eligible for monthly prize drawings, be celebrated and honored at volunteer appreciation events, participate in behind-the-scenes tours and activities, and attend ongoing training to improve communication and service skills. In addition, you'll likely spot a celebrity now and then, use your natural gifts and talents, maintain or improve your personal fitness level, be able to apply your foreign language skills, be able to use your knowledge and experience in a new venue, and be a good role model of a vibrant and engaged member of our community. But most of all, you'll have fun! Fun meeting people from all parts of our city, from throughout our region, from coast-to-coast, and even from other nations! As a bonus, you'll get the smiles and thanks of those you helped each and every time you volunteer.
